Took 2 hrs passing the border, so much people. Arrived in Dogubayazit, such a nice town. Stayed with warmshowers and exchanged simcards with a traveler going to Iran and I gave him my Iranian debit card.

Took me three days to Tabriz. Been checking for airbnb but all booked so a bit desperate but was stopped by a car who offered me a sleeping place in his home. First we got his daughter from eveing school. She was happy to speak English. Simple evening meal. and breakfast band I was on my way towards the border, probably two days through Iran Azerbaijan

Very nice train ride. While waiting for my bike a lady is coming up asking if I need help. She stayed with me 2 hrs until we realised the bike comes with the train tomorrow.. She gave me a ride to my Airbnb host and stayed with us for dinner and my first vine this journey.

Second night in Iran

I stayed between bandar Lengeh and Abbas with this family. They were very nice and this beautiful lady, a teacher, was very interested in religion

No Iranian money. The poeple working in the airport helped me change and then took me around by car to find a place for simcard. Impossible.

Nice Nizwa. Best place in Oman. camped in a park with a nice Falaj for swimming in. Camped in Misfah and Airbnb in Hamra. So nice here

Two days on the bike, 10 hrs a day and head wind. Not fun. Hiked with a bedu pickup the last 100 k and found a cheap hotel in Khobal.. The Saudi lady didnt ask for my passport but my Whatsapp.

Heavy uphill all the way to and past Taif. 2000 m elevation. Two days cykling 300 km, slept in the desert. Its Rhamadan, stopped for breaking the fast and this Irish guy comes up to sit at my table. He was travelling from Abha going to Riyadh and offered me a ride.. He was tired, I drove. I stayed in his apartment and continued next day.
Jeddah

350 km

2 days to Jeddah where I lived 7 years, with good tailwind. Difficult to find place for sleeping, the road is fenced in. Stayed with friends in Jeddah which has really changed to the better.

It took me a day only from Tabuk to Wadi Deesah where I eneterd the backway. Astonishing nature. Astonishing 6 hr walk through the wadi to Deesa where I stayed in a pakistani "hotel" for 10 Euro.

A day up, up, up but with tailwind so easy to ride. Camped along the road, very cold night here on 2500 meters elevation. Next day, three flat tires and no more spares. Two youngsters stopped and gave me a ride to Tabuk and a bike shop where they paid a new tube. Then they invited me home for tea, brought me to a hotel they paid. Next day back to the bike shop and bought more inner tubes. Didnt want to do it with the young ones cause they insisted on paying.
Haql

It was raining all the way from Aqaba to Haql. Managed to get a sim card here. Difficult to find a hotel and raining too much for camping. Some Saudi youngsters offered me a place in their stable.

Ali was waiting at the Syrian border with my Visa. Got the bike into hi car. Ali has worked in Jeddah so we had much to talk about. He told me what it was like to live in Aleppo during 5 years occupation by Al Qaeda. Thats why he changed his name to Ali. He said "you said Aleppo had fallen when it was liberated". He is not happy about west.
